Our Saints Alive ministry exists to “serve and equip for service” senior adults of our church and community. Providing direction and support for the spiritual, emotional, social and physical well-being of seniors comes alive through a robust schedule of activities and opportunities for fellowship.
Mr. Bill Poe facilitates our Bible study group every Thursday at 10 AM, where we grow in the knowledge of God’s word. On first and third Thursdays, it’s time for board games and a brown bag lunch following the study. Saints Alive! is often “on the road” for day or overnight trips to places of interest in and around the state.
A SAMPLING OF OUR EVENTS:
- Our active and energetic seniors participated in a day-trip to Arthurdale, West Virginia, where they enjoyed a guided tour of Eleanor Roosevelt’s “Little Village.” The tour featured a museum, forge, old-time gas station and an original home fitted with furniture made in Arthurdale in the 1930s.
- Washington, PA and the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum.
- The group traveled to Lancaster, PA to see the production of “Moses” at the Sight and Sound Theatre. While in Lancaster, they toured an Amish home, farm and school and did some shopping. Everyone pronounced the trip “a grand adventure!”
Everything we do is in the name of Jesus Christ, and we strive to glorify Him as we work and play together.
